Meet my juvenile Savannah Monitor, Mad Max! My boyfriend Kam feeds him superworms in this video. Max eats a variety of insects and occasionally, low fat meat like ground turkey or slivers of chicken. He also loves hard boiled eggs! Savannah monitors, also known as Bosc monitors, are an African species that grow to around 3 feet long. In the wild they mainly eat invertebrates, but juveniles are also known to eat amphibians.

Stick around tomorrow for a new video about some awesome and strange monitor species with a peculiar diet!

Thanks for watching!!

Sorry for the poor video and audio- I was on my way to the gym when I saw this beautiful timber rattlesnake on the busy highway. I moved it off the road and decided to give some identification pointers!

Also, forgive the vertical video- I don’t ever film that way but decided to do so to make it FB friendly!

Timber rattlesnakes are one of my favorite native species here in Georgia. As you can see, it was defensive NOT aggressive! It’s a myth that they’re aggressive. This is evidence of that fact! It was just upset because a giant predator (me) was up in its bizness.

It finally came time for our gator, Pluto, to go back to the farm he came from. He was with on an educational loan program. We'll get a new baby soon, but nobody can replace our Pluto. 😢

Thank you Pluto, for 2 years of letting thousands of people pet you! Thank you for helping teach people about reptiles!
